Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 5, 2026

This website, dmblawyer.com (DMB LAW), is the personal website of DavidMichael Bogard, a partner at Bogard Law, 17573 Fort St, Riverview, MI 48193. This policy explains what information the site collects when you visit or contact me, how I use it, and the choices you have. In this policy, "I," "me," and "my" refer to me, DavidMichael Bogard.

Website hosting

This site is built and hosted on Squarespace. When you visit, Squarespace's servers deliver the pages to you, and information you send through the site is stored on Squarespace's systems. Squarespace handles information about my site's visitors on my behalf and under my instructions. Squarespace may also use some information it receives automatically, such as your IP address, for its own purposes, including keeping its services secure. You can read how Squarespace handles information at squarespace.com/privacy.

Cookies and analytics

Like most websites, this site uses cookies. Cookies are small pieces of data a website stores on your device. Squarespace places two general kinds:

  • Necessary cookies. These help the site work and stay secure, for example by protecting forms against fraudulent requests and remembering basic settings. The site cannot work properly without them.

  • Analytics and performance cookies. These tell me in general terms how visitors use the site, such as how many people visit, which pages they view, and how they found the site. I use this information only to understand and improve the site. It does not tell me who you are.

You can review, block, or delete cookies through your browser settings. If you block cookies, some parts of the site may not work as intended.

Google Maps

My Contact page shows an embedded Google map. When the map loads, Google may set cookies or collect information about your visit, such as your IP address. Google handles that information under its own privacy policy, which you can read at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Information you send me

If you use the contact form, it asks for your first and last name, your email address, and your message. If you call or email me, I receive whatever you choose to share, along with your phone number or email address.

I use this information only to respond to you, to check for conflicts of interest before I can discuss your matter, and to schedule a consultation if you want one. I do not add you to a mailing list unless you ask.

Please keep your message short and general. Do not send confidential or time-sensitive information through this site until I have agreed to represent you. See my Terms of Use for more on this.

Who I share it with

I do not sell, rent, or trade your information. I share it only:

  • with Squarespace and other service providers that help me run the site and my practice, and only so they can provide those services;

  • when required by law, court order, or the Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct; or

  • with your permission.

How long I keep it

Contact form submissions are stored by Squarespace and emailed to me. I am the only person who reads that email account. I keep them as long as I need them to respond to you and to keep the records my practice requires, and then I delete them. If you become a client, your information becomes part of your client file and is kept under my file-retention practices and professional obligations.

Security

I take reasonable steps to protect the information you send me, and Squarespace provides security for the sites it hosts. Still, no website, email, or internet transmission is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee the security of anything you send online.

Links to other sites

This site links to other websites, such as courts, government agencies, and legal resources. I do not control those sites and am not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please read their policies when you visit them.

Minors

If you are under 18 and need a lawyer, a parent or guardian may contact me for you, or you may contact me yourself. If I represent a minor, the minor is my client, even if a parent or guardian arranges or pays for the representation, and I take direction about the case from my client. Information a parent, guardian, or anyone else shares with me may not be privileged or confidential, so please keep first messages short and general.

Your choices

You can ask me what information you have sent through this site, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. I will honor these requests unless I am required to keep the information by law or by my professional obligations.
